General Motors CarBravo aims to change how people shop for used cars

Traditionally, GM dealers sell Chevrolet, Buick, New GMC, and other GM umbrella brands sold by used cars from all manufacturers, often taken as trading for new vehicles. However, there was an increase in competition in the used car market, with some dealers only selling used cars, such as Carvana, Carmax, and others. When a pandemic struck, many people began to look for different ways to buy new and used vehicles, including services that never asked them to set foot on the dealer. General Motors has announced new ways for people to shop for used vehicles called Carbravo.

GM says Carbravo is designed to shop for customers for used vehicles more access to expansive inventory. This service also aims to provide a better shopping experience and the benefits of exclusive ownership are only available through Carbravo. Utilizing new services, customers will have access to vehicles at GM dealers and “National Centers’ Stock” from used GM vehicles.

One of the critical aspects of Carbravo is that while it is a GM system, it will offer access to all used vehicle brands. Presumably, the warning is access to used vehicles depending on availability on the GM dealer network. The characteristic of this service is that Carbravo is designed to allow customers to choose how they shop for vehicles. They can shop online, on dealers, or take advantage of both shopping methods if they want. The important aspect of the carbravo shopping experience is a new GM digital retail platform (DRP).

GM said the DRP was designed to make vehicle shopping experience as transparent as possible. Transparency means clear determination of dealer prices and vehicle history reports for vehicles sold on the platform. These features will be offered on all vehicles available through Carbravo, even if they are not a GM family vehicle.

The GM platform also requires that all vehicles sold through Carbravo can be reconditioned and checked to meet the standards set by GM rather than dealers. Just like Carmax, Carvana, and other similar used car dealers, GM will offer purchase offers guaranteed on used vehicles even if the seller does not buy another vehicle from Carbravo. Price Offers are made at prices set by black books, which are industrial standards for used car prices.

GM is trying to distinguish Carbravo from the competition by offering a standard warranty for all vehicles purchased through the service. The pleasant thing about the warranty through Carbravo is that warranty services are provided through the national GM dealer network. One of the challenges for people who buy vehicles from a used car dealer like Carmax is that to get the most benefits of their warranty, they need to have a vehicle served at a car dealer, and not all areas have it. Almost every simple city in this country has such a GM dealer or in a short one travel.

Other important features for this service include roadside services, borrowers, and qualified vehicles can obtain OnStar and Siriusxm trials. To make financing more accessible, buyers who buy vehicles through Carbravo will have the opportunity to finance using GM Financial. When trying to make a purchase decision, the buyer will also be able to have a vehicle sent to their home for a test drive and sent directly to their home where it is available. GM has confirmed that currently registering dealers to participate, and services will be launched in the spring of 2022.
